What each score means

Each question uses a four-point scale anchored to observable institutional practice — not perceptions of effort or intent.

Level 1

Absent or unmanaged

No formal process. Adoption is undocumented, uncontrolled, or left to individuals.

Level 2

Emerging and informal

Activity exists but without documentation, named ownership, or organizational consistency.

Level 3

Structured and applied

A policy or process exists and has been applied to at least one real use case — not just written or approved.

Level 4

Embedded and adaptive

Governance is institutionalized across roles and updates as AI capabilities and requirements evolve.

Before you begin

One respondent should have cross-institutional knowledge — policy, infrastructure, staff capability, and operations

Answer for current state — what is applied today, not what is planned, underway, or in draft

Sector-specific questions adapt to your context: education, health, government, or international development

Working-group completion is supported — score differences across team members are informative, not errors to reconcile

This is a self-assessment instrument. Scores reflect the organization's own evaluation and are most reliable when completed by someone with genuine cross-institutional knowledge. Team completion and stakeholder validation improve reliability; peer benchmarking should be treated as a separate advisory exercise when sufficient comparison data is available.

Available in English, French, and Arabic at launch. These languages cover a significant share of the sectors and regions served. Organizations whose primary working language is not covered are encouraged to complete the assessment in their strongest available language.

How it works
  1. Complete the questionnaire

    A structured questionnaire covering your current policies, systems, people, and learning practices. Most respondents complete it in a single session.

  2. Submit your responses

    Provide your contact details so the assessment can send your automated profile report by email.

  3. Access your results

    Your AI Maturity Profile is generated immediately and displayed on screen — dimension scores, priority alerts, and a 90-day action plan. A PDF copy is emailed automatically. After reviewing, you can request an optional written advisory analysis from Meridian.

  4. Optional next step

    If your profile report or written analysis indicates a need for deeper engagement, we can scope an Institutional Diagnostic Sprint.
